Montgomery County SPCA works to find "forever homes" for Maryland cats

Animal-welfare organizations all over the Washington, D.C., area spend countless hours each year working at cat adoption events to find good "forever homes" for cats and kittens. Here’s a picture story of one such event, held by the Montgomery County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, at the PetSmart store in Germantown, Md.

Volunteer Irene Lavorini said that many people think they can simply attend an MCSPCA cat adoption event and take home a cat, but that is not the case. Potential adopters must comply with the MCSPCA’s adoption rules, which help to ensure the best possible placement results. Potential adopters who see a cat at one event must wait until another event to take their new feline companion home.
